|
|
Hi Just brought one of these from ebay, seems fine charged the unit up for the full 8 hours, it's fine works ok, but after about 3 days (I only use it for 5 minutes at a time over the 3 days) the battery is fully discharged?! it takes a few minutes of plugging it in and powering it up for the unit to even start to recharge itself at the mains?! I have to recharge it for the full 8 hours every 2-3 days(I've switched the unit off but that doesn't appear to help)
Is this likely to be a problem with the unit or the battery? I've purchased a nokia battery from ebay to see if that will help....anyone else had anything like this? please help! |

Just to let other people know as well that i recently bought one of these holox bt-321 from ebay as well. And it seems to have the same problem. I charge it for the full 8 hour, then use it for a full days work. which is 9 to 5 for me on the road. And i even power off to save the batterie. And low and behold when its been powered of overnight the batterie is dead as a dodo, nothing, kaput.zero energy. So does any nice people out ther have a solution to our problem of batterie power loss. apart from removing the the cell from the unit it self which defeats the object. Any other answers. |

I would try fully charging the battery then remove it overnight, put the battery in to the GPS in the morning and power it up.
If the unit works for quite some time the fault is with the GPS.
If the unit doesn't power up for long (if at all) the battery is shot.
Either way it looks like a return to vendor as faulty, but a new battery might be cheaper than the postage to send it back! - Mike |

Hi there, did you get the problem sorted as i've had this reciever (Holox BT-321) for a while now and have the same problem as you describe, also the reciever won't switch on while charging, it only charges with the cable in. Thats anoying because whats the point if it goes flat during a long journey.
Does it sound like i've got a duff unit,
Thanks in advance, |

Yes i did get it sorted the nice people changed the batterie for me :D and ever since ive been really pleased with it, Its a good little product an for what it worth, i think its good value for money. Ive been using it with my ipaq 2490 for a fair few months now and as long as its had a good 8hrs overnight charge it will work for 2 days none stop ie 9 to 5 with no problems. But if its been dormant for a day or two perhaps over the weekend for instance, when i go to power it up its dead. Which is a bit of a pain because it loses the memory for the sat lock. Apart from that it ok. Does this ring a bell with anybody else. |

I've been using a BT-321 for several months now and it performs perfectly. Lasts for a good 12 hours use and keeps its charge for a week or more. |
