Firmware upgrade fro Xtrac v2???

Hi guys,

I bought my clip-on more than a year ago, and it never worked well.
It takes ages to get a fix (ST/XT). Even if there are 5(!) or more satellites with excellent(!) signal (checked with the great GPSDash Software).

I hope that the FW upgrade fixes my problems too.
My Serial is: LA15004270362

How do I check what version I have?
What do I need to upgrade?
Is there a HowTo?

Having major problems:

Got the software installed and the batch file editted etc.

When I run the BT sync software and turn on the com port bluetooth starts on the unit, but Link to GPS button never starts. The satellite lock button is now permanently orange.

Any idea what has gone wrong?

When I click on the "Link To Fortuna GPS" button, my computer crashes and resets every time. What might I be doing wrong?

I got this to work back when I posted the previous post. however, I was having some problems with my Belkin Bluetooth GPS and had to exchange it under warranty (Belkin is really nice about that by the way.) Now I am having some problems again trying to update it..... At first I couldn't update my gps with my computer (which has the 3.5" disk drive) ....it would crash and go to the blue screen of death saying "irql_not_less_or_equal". I still can' figure out what it is doing that ...has anyone else had this issue? finally i ended up buying an external 3.5" drive and got it to update. However, I thought that when I did the update before, it showed 11 or 12 satellites which connected with 9 or so....but that was in the ST mode. Has anyone other people notice an improvement in the ST mode as well after the update?

I'm having major problems getting this damn thing to upgrade. I've paired it to my PC and ran the ClipOnSyncBT program. I also copied the firmware to a floppy. I click on Com Port on and I then get the "Link to Fortuna GPS" button appear. So I click on that and the Execute button becomes available.

So, once I click that I get a new window saying that it is "Downloading". It waits about 5 seconds and I then just get a button saying "Fail".

Any ideas anyone ?

Hi, i'm a new user of this forum but i follow you since long time...

i´ve tried to upgrade my clip on fortuna gps and i found the same problem of "mfuller"..... Sad

now the clip on don´t work anymore..

Can somebody help me??
