I actually tried to do that - but the instructions weren't very clear and Icouldn't work out how to select the map of britain.

Hmm, looks like it was indeed a corrupted map. Have reinstalled the map data from mapsource ad hey presto I can see my home street again. I no longer live in the middle of a field! Smile

I'm just gonna take it for a spin around Norwich quickly to double check it works.

I take it is a good idea not to turn it off manually during navigation in future, particularly if it is actually speaking at the time.......
