Diversions and Closed Roads

Say there is a road or a number of roads coned off due to roadworks/police matter what is the best way to get around this.

If you drive down a side road it will try and take u back to the blocked road again.

If there are metal diversion signs is it best to follow these and let the i3 reroute along this idea.

Or will pressing the Detour button get you around it to the specified road u want to get to?

the i3 is only there to help you get to a location..with common sense,looking at roadsigns and sometimes even a map ,then you will not get lost..i would either follow the diversion signs or head in the general direction you are going..on both accounts the i3 will recalculate and eventually get you to your destination..
