Hi
I just used TT Home to get 6.14. Naturally it completely messed up my TT first time round (stuck on splash screen forever, reset, try again, ditto, etc) but somehow eventually I got it to work.

And I now have no HOME nor any FAVOURITES whatsoever. Thanks so much TomTom.

Naively (cynical? moi?) I went to TT website support - but it's broken. "Select model" has no models to select from and so you cannot get to the support email address to send them a rocket or even get to support to ask the question and see if there is an answer. (Stupid, aren't I? TT? Have an answer? To a problem on a release they only just released? Get out of here!)

Browsed this forum for 30 mins - can't find anything relevant, so forgive me if this is already dealt with elsewhere. Can anyone advise which files from my backup I should xfer across to get my Favourites back?

Thanks
George

Don't browse - Use "Search"!!!

Set it to "Search all Terms" in just the TomTom Go/Rider/One forum, Type "Favourites file"

Found it in 2 seconds

(it's the .cfg file in your map folder)

Please Everyone... try using "Search"!!!

Have updated Go 300 to 6.14 and am absolutley delighted!

Have recently bought Go 910 which is v6.10 and TomTom Home tells me this should be updated. Is this a good idea and if so what improvements should I expect?

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but this is a first post for me.

I had the same problem of it sticking on the splash screen. How did you fix that?

Colin...
v6.11 is latest for the 910 (v6.14 just for old models).
According to TomTom
Quote:
What's new in 6.11?
- The "Microphone Preferences' icon has been replaced with "Bluetooth Preferences".
- Text-to-speech pronunciation has been improved.
- The remote control can now be used to access the TRAFFIC menu.
- iPod(r) interaction has been improved.
- The GO device will no longer automatically switch off when there is a temporary loss of power while driving.
- USB device recognition has been improved.
- Many other minor improvements.

If any of that is important to you, then upgrade, otherwise why bother?

Thanks Andy - I did try search and got so many results that it took a lot of browsing.
I have now found some info - seems TT changed the name of the cfg file. So I brought my old one back and changed the name to the new one in 6.14 - zilch. So then I just brought it back and left it under old name and it worked.

(So what is it with TT that their s/w testing is so hit and miss, I wonder? Why did they think that effectively deleting (or changing the name of) a user's favourites file would be a good thing, and if it happened by accident not design, when will they institute a proper, full technical, regression, backwards compatibility and user test cycle, to prevent such 'accidents'?)

Hey-ho - problem solved, anyway.

thanks
George

Hi All.

Have read through all posts and the problem of the remote not working with the 700 after upgrading (is that the correct term???) to 6.14 seems to have been dropped.

Does this mean that everyones remote now works or has someone come up with an answer?

Mine works for the first 10 or so button pushes, then freezes. Switch 700 off then on again and ok for another 10 or so pushes.

Any solutions would be appreciated.
