|
|
Hi guys,
This is extremely frustrating.... downloaded the Garmin Web Updater 232
Installed fine. Went to launch the program and cannot get past the first screen..... it says click NEXT - there is no next button to click, never had this before in my life.
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling in a different directory
Disabling firewall and antivirus
powering GPS on and off on the screen in the hope a button would magically appear.
I have a Streetpilot I3 - firmware version: 3.00 trying to update to 3.10 with the web-updater I realise I could possibly do this manually but I have broken so much stuff doing this with routers I don't trust myself.
Any ideas chaps? |

I thought you had cracked it then Rod as I wasn't even aware of that.
Unfortunately however I have run through all my resolutions only to achieve the same result below:

Ok this is a slight step in the right direction. I decided to download the POI loader to see if I ended up with the same result..... this is what I got:
So I guess this proves one thing that the buttons arent missing they are merely hidden! I have never seen anything like this! I do not have a resize or maximize functions even when right clicking this window on the taskbar!
What in god's name is going on? 8O |

Weird...
Have you tried press Enter key when asked to click on Next button ?
Maybe that will allow you to do the task.. Make sure the device is connected to the PC and powered on before you press enter.. |

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies!
Unfortunately:
Enter itself doesnt do anything
Tab+Enter makes the window close - even when the GPS is powered on!
This is just crazy. 8O |

Have you manually started the POI loader or did it pop up when youu connected the i3?
If you manually started it then your pc may not have detected the i3 _________________ i3 2.70(went to 2.82,3.0,3.1 but downgraded) with V8 map on microSD card

You could also check out the properties for the icon, and have a look at the Run option, doe sit read Normal Screen or Maximised?
I claim no credit for this one Smithee found it when we trying to solve his exact same problem. If i recall correctly he had to choose Maximised in order to see the whole box and the buttons at the bottom.
Good old Windows! |

I too had the same problem wich took garmins support team 4 weeks to diagnose.
Very simple solution, i am using win xp with my task bar at the top of the screen...unlock it, put it at the bottom , lock again and hey presto,
very strange but true |

Just to confirm, this happens when your font size is different from the normal setting. Changing it effects the DPI on your monitor which screws up the button layout.
Ive seen it before, and almost (!) had it happen on the apps I write. |
