Works great but really struggle with the loss of all POI Chimes. I think it migh have been useful to keep one free for other POI's and therefore the Polite 3 might have been better used. Akso I find that Beep one contains A vhime and the work 'Gatso', I am not sure whether this is deliberate or an error.

Hi id, just to pass on to you what I have learned over the past few days, the sound file add-on listed on this site is very limited, but I was given a sound folder by Mullet which contained 32 sound warnings, each of which was preceeded by an un-missable siren!
If you can get a copy from Mullet, don't try to install it over the sound files that you already have - mis-listing results. Restore your data.chk file to one which has just the original TomTom sound files, then use POI Extended Capture (Sorry, can't find the link) to build a customised sound file.
Works like a charm - and 32 different warnings should be enough for anyone!

I thought that at first, but take a close look at the Qty of warnings? - POIExtend only goes to 30 not 32 as stated - what application was used to create 32 specific warnings and where from? - Mike

It is indeed to 30 slot POIExtend, I gave svengali_UK 32 soundfiles (and rays licence) but only 24 needed for the full speed cam warnings, the rest are options.

Have you changed the right data.chk file ?. the one you need to change is on your device in Program Files | Navigator folder and not the one on the sdcard.

Hi,

Excellent resource!

I have just downloaded camera POI database and new sounds for my MIO A701 with TomTom Navigator 5 App version 5.210 (5430). All the POIs are loaded fine but I still get the old sounds instead of the spoken ones, e.g. "Gatso 40" etc. I replaced my data.chk file with the download from the site for '5430' but cannot see what I have ommitted.

Can anyone please suggest what Muppetry I may have done to not get the appropriate sounds?

All help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks...

There are 2 builds with 5.21. 5430 and 5431. Check to make sure you have the right one.

If you have the right file, it will go into My Device/Program Files/Navigator. It doesn't go on the SD Card.

You might need to "soft reset" the device to get the unit to load the new data.chk file and use it, this will only restart the device - give the reset hole a prod with the stylus and then try configuring the warnings, if you have put the file where Old Boy has explained then it should work - Mike
