Hi there

BACKGROUND

First time poster.

Just back from my first trip using my new Garmin Nuvi 310. Glasgow to Alton Towers and back with no probs at all = a superb bit of kit!

First time I've ever owned a satnav system.

Anyway I've paid the subscription fee for pocketgpsworld and downloaded the Pocket GPS speed camera database. I'm also downloaded the Garmin poi database from www.MaFt.co.uk/garmin

PROBLEM

I used Garmin poi loader without any problem to load the Pocket GPS speed camera database but when I loaded the Garmin poi database from www.MaFt.co.uk/garmin, the speed camera database was gone. I realised I needed to have both databases in the same folder, so that problem was solved and all seemed fine.

But now I've used the databases when out driving they give me alerts (text and beeping) anytime I'm near any of my POI's. Now this is fine for the cameras, but my question is, can I turn the proximity alerts off for all the POI's except for the speed cameras? Or is the only solution to keep the camera database and delete the Garmin poi database from www.MaFt.co.uk/garmin?

Also is there anyway to change the proximity of the alerts, (some go off too far away)?

Thanks

Allan

Welcome to the forum Allan

Don't worry there is a bug in the latest version of POILoader from the Garmin Website which is causing your problem.

I have the previous version on my web space unistall what you currently have and put on the following normal service resumed Thumbs Up

Thanks Timber

Knew someone would have a simple solution to this.

Thanks again.

Thanks for that.

The other question was about the proximity alarms.

When I loaded both the speed camera database and MaFt's Garmin poi database my satnav gives me alerts (text and beeping) anytime I'm near any of my POI's. Now this is fine for the cameras, but I don't want a beeping satnav every time I pass a B&Q or a Greggs etc.

My question is, can I turn the proximity alerts off for all the POI's except for the speed cameras? Or is the only solution to keep the camera database and delete the Garmin poi database from www.MaFt.co.uk/garmin?

I have told you what is wrong the POILoader currently for download at the Garmin site is the cause of the problem un-install and download the version in my previous post and the problem will be resolved namely the camera poi's will give warning's all othe poi will not.
