Having used TT3 on my PDA for years and years, my work has finally caved in and allowed me to purchase a new system - with 2 conditions

1) it has to be a stand-alone unit rather than a PDA solution
2) it must come in at under £250 (inc VAT)

In terms of features, it really doesn't need anything more than my TT3, except up do date maps. It doesn't need bluetooth for phone handsfree and my shiney new car has bluetooth itself for this, and I don't want to pay for traffic alerts etc, so I don't need the capability to do it. I did see something that showed the speed limit for the area you were travelling in on one device - that would be useful but not essential. So with that in mind, does anyone have a unit to recommend? I guess TT ONE would be my first thought as I am used to using their software but are there others I should be considering on this tiny buget? Maybe there's an essential feature I'm not thinking of?

thanks,
Mark

to be honest at that price point you cant really go wrong with the ttone especially if you want ease of use there is the garmin c310 but i pretty sure the one has the better gps chipset as your used to the tomtom system then the one would be easier for you to set up with camera poi etc
just make a back up of the sd card as soon as you get it
