Gamin TMC Questions

Sorry I know this seems like an appropriate post for the TMC forum but this one seems a little more popular.

Couple of questions

1) My TFM 12 TMC receiver is showing RAC Live: Life Time subscription . When I click subscriptions it says "This subscription has not been activated it will be activate when a GPS and RDS signal is available"

Does this mean it already has the UK subscription paid for, why is it not active ?. I have a GPS signal and I can see some traffic announcements (even though I'm in the house).

2) The FTM 12 receiver has a little wire stub that attaches to the windscreen, will this be sufficient for a RDS signal. If not would I be able to cut the wire and attached it to my Main Aerial Via a Y splitter.

3) Is it possible to see the strength of the RDS signal ?

Did you get your RAC subscription issue solved as my unit is now showing the same thing. Before the software update it was fine!

same thing happend on my 350 after the update.


all seems to work fine though, i think it's just a bug with the new firmware.

have recently purchased a GTM 11 for my nuvi 300
In reply to you question about signal strength as well as the traffic icon being blue when in sync it you tap icon to get list of traffic problems, if my memory serves me correct the FM signal strength bar is at the top right hand corner

P.S. Mine shows the same activation message after update to 3.30 but appears to be working
I thinks it relates to new subscriptions
