Navman ICN 530 doesn't come with a power adaptor, if you see the website they have mentioned that you can use USB cable for in house charging.
Also if you look at the box of the Navman ICN 530. There is no mention about the power charger.
POI's are bit out of date and you cannot blame Navman being inferior. In my 520 the petrol stations on various places appear on the wrong side of the road when you travel.
I think this unit is good value for money if you also consider European maps are coming additionally with no extra cost, TomTom charges individual country maps at an average of £80 extra |

If you really want an in house mains charger, try item P1577 from Global Positioning systems at £4.21 + Vat & P&P total £8.42, - it's a AC/DC converter and you can plug your car charger into the unit socket and charge from the mains. _________________ Gee-Pee

You can buy a usb 3 pin pug into which you can plug your usb cable and the 530 will charge perfectly well. These devices are available almost everywhere for under a fiver, because they are used for ipods! So mains charging this unit is no problem at all! |

The route provided by the Navman would not have led me to the filling station. I drove to the Asda filling station in question and set a route using the Navman to the same Asda filling station and the route was 11.3 miles to the wrong location. I tried this on a few other local locations and each one was innaccurate. One local filling station was shown by the Navman to be in a residential Cul de Sac about a quarter mile from the actual location. |
Do you live in Canterbury per chance?
The amount of errors in not only the petrol station POI's but also in the maps and navigation is appaling for Canterbury. ALL petrol stations navigatable by the fuel button are in the wrong locations barring one (Sturry) which closed down two/three years ago (other wrong locations for petrol stations include those between the Blackwall Tunnel and Hackney in London via the A12 and A13, AND ALL the stations along the M2/A2 are also wrong).
In regards to the maps there's at least two roundabouts missing from the A28 heading towards Margate (one has been there for at least three years maybe four, the other at least two or three years, so much for upto date mapping ).
The main map/routing error relates to two parallel roads (Sturry Rd and Braod Oak Rd) and five roundabouts (one of these is not shown and has been there for the last five years) which make a complete and navigatable circuit in both directions. According to Navman there is no navigatable route between the St. Stevens Rd/Broad Oak Rd roundabout and the Sturry Rd roundabout (Kingsmead roundabout). This routing error is a concern to coach drivers as the one and only coach park for Canterbury is situated between the St. Stevens Rd/Broad Oak Rd roundabout and the Sturry Rd roundabout, as is the local Sainsbury's and a car park. On the subject of car parks the car park button on the 530 is TOTALLY USELESS in Canterbury, the nearest car parks are in Ashford and Maidstone (15-30 miles away), despite Canterbury having three Park & Rides and 12+ Pay & Display car parks (Non of which are NCP ).
The routing error mentioned and missing roundabouts are susceptible to the 510/520 and 530. The POI's petrol stations for the 510/520 are in the correct locations.
Having watched the 530 interactive demo on Navmans web site which is totally ironic and very misleading.
So it begs to ask the question, what went wrong between the 510/520 and the 530 POI's?[/url] |
