where to mount i3 in a Citroen Xsara Picasso

I just encountered this a few weeks back having never had a car with a fancy windshield before.

The i3 went berserk, randomly finding and losing satellites, giving random advice. I thought it was broken and turned it off, then when telling the tale to someone else they mentioned about another sat nav not working on the car. Stuck it on the drivers window (loads of free space over there anyway) and it's worked faultlessly since then, no need for an aerial.

But the angle on the mount *can* mean the unit drops into the driver's foot well...
