IS it possible to set up TTN5 on my PDA simply as a warning device for speed cameras? It works fine when I have gone to the effort of putting in a route, the machine beeps at me as I approach a Speed Camera.

But if I know where I am going to I can't seem to just have it on and warning me as I approach speed cameras, like I imagine bespoke GPS Speed Camera systems do.

I've tried it with POIs showing and hidden and it doesn't seem to make any difference, it won't warn me unless i have set an address and it's worked out a route, which is sometimes a bit of overkill when I know where I am going and how to get there but might not know all the speed camera points.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Al

Hi Al

When you set up POI detection there is a check box called "warn only if on route" (or something like that) if you uncheck this box you will get the warnings whether a route is planned or not.

Thanks Pilgrim

I'll try that.

Does this mean though that when I am on a route, it will ping whenever I go near a camera even if not on route? Does this make much difference in practice or not? :o

It would be a shame to have to go through each Camera POI and change settings depending on whether I was planning on putting in a route or not.

Any more info gratefully received.

regards

Al

It's best to leave it as 'Warn when near' all the time, otherwise you won't get a warning of cameras on bridges that are not on route..
