|

Hi All,
Does anyone know where I can get the Medion 5.1 USA Map from for less than £110 (the price quoted on the Medion webste)?
I am off to Florida for a couple of weeks and was going to take the sat nav. I`ve checked Ebay and everything on there is for a version 4.
Thanks alot,

I have the version 4 maps, which I ordered when I had the PNA200.
Unfortunately, the PNA200 got stolen due to the actions of a careless colleague.
I bought a PNA250 to replace it, but that has MN5 software.
BUT......
If you get a 1GB SD card, transfer the MN4 operating system files on to it from the USA maps CD and install the required maps (You still can't fit ALL of them on a 1GB card!).
You have to do this on an external SD card reader - I used a digital camera, then later just deleted the folder that the camera put on the card for images.
When you insert this card into the PNA unit, it will load the MN4 software. You just choose the state maps you require (They're in groups.)
Strangely, the Settings/Navigation/MP3 Player icons from MN5 remained - everything else appeared as MN4.
I've tested addresses on the US maps, but I haven't actually taken the unit over there to ensure it will operate correctly. I can't see why not though.
Then, when you wish to return to UK mapping, power off at the back, swap cards to the original and you will be running on UK MN5 again.
Remember if you use POI Warner, you will need to re-install it after powering off!

Correction to what I said above:
The required MN4 files - autorunce.exe and mnavdce.cab are on the v4.75 support CD and not the mapping CDs.
As the total file size is 10.4MB, it's within the scope of an email on most ISPs.
