Hi , sorry about this , i have just purchased the I3 after my original GO was stolen from the car ( In 3 minutes ) although the unit was expensive and the insurance would not pay , i am delighted with the I3 and surprised by the value for money it offers , at just £129 i was not expecting anything special , but i was wrong !
I am a little confused about the difference between V7 and V8 and the Garmin update and why and when and how , can anyone help ?

The v7 & v8 are the map versions, v8 being the latest.

If you look down the posts in the 'Garmin StreetPilot and nüvi forum' you will see some posts about the map versions and updating to v8 if you have v7.

Yes , it says V8 next to the bar code and the firmware is correct .
