Just loaded up the i3 with with the camera database. It detects cameras OK but appears to warn you in either direction i.e. in the direction the camera would snap you and the otherway. Is this the expected behaviour?
I've searched the forums but so far haven't found any info but as I'm new here please excuse me if I've missed the obvious! |

The warning is just based on proximity. |

that proxy stuff could be more refined, why cos we have a redeye cam and every time we on a diffrent road near it ie a dual carrageway and not on the 30mph one where it is the dam satnav bongs away we doing 70 and the thing bongs cos we going over the 30mph.
so would it be possable to have the pois on the actual road you on not some road nearby where you not even going to go past it directly.. _________________ tom tom start 25

There's not much you can do about cameras that are on nearby roads, other than use the GPX convertor (and the instructions, posted in the sticky) to tweak the proximity / distance warnings to something that suits you better. |

you beat me to it lester (linking to the gpx convertor)
also, the data in the csv is simply location (latitude/longitude), name and set speed limit. there is no other space for data regarding the road it's on or the direction - at least there isn't at the moment.
you could always suggest to garmin that they include a direction column into poi loader and change the firmware for all the units to recognise this direction info?

Thanks for the replies. Having direction in would be great as it would just about halve the number of alerts. Wonder what the chances are of Garmin incorporating that? |

If everyone emails them then i don't why they wouldn't. It surely can't be that hard because companies like Road Angel and Talex do it.

Having thought about it. I think having the ability to add two directional headings would be good. Mobile sites often enforce both directions from the same site (obviously at different times) |

direction would be good as the nav knows which way ones going and the coords of the things are known too but some do swing 180deg _________________ tom tom start 25

just a thought if they did do a directional poi then the alert we get wont happen due too the fact we would`nt be traveling in that direction but 90deg too it. _________________ tom tom start 25
