I have a Holux GPSlim 236. It is very small, allows both serial and bluetooth connections (simultaneously if you want), has Sirf III, and can be used on PC, Notebook, and PDA. Some come with an optional external antenna for applications with a poor sky view.

One to consider is the BT 338. Small, battery lasts for ages, works from the glovebox, SIRFIII chipset, comes with a neat (leather?) case, and works just fine with my 2210 and TT5. Dunno whether it's the best, but it's pretty good.

Hi paul66
I have not found any GPS receiver that even comes close to the performance of the BT338. I too had the original receiver that came with TT3 and when I first tried the BT338 I was gob smacked. I just had to purchase one immediately and I have never looked back.

thanks for the reply's, i'll take a look at the holux236 slim and the BT338.
one last question, is there a cable available that will allow you to charge either of them from the tomtom car holder like i can with my current reciever.

The BT338 has exactly the same connector as your current receiver ( the round iPAQ plug)
