Take a coin! 8)

Personally - I would still look for a v8 on eBay if Staples' ones are v7, but waht with the recent news of updates from Garmin, possibly from today, then who knows?!

Suppose it boils down to how quickly you need one really...

First stop: Install WebUpdater and apply the v2.70 firmware - mine was supplied as v2.50 (v8 maps) and was screwy until I did this...

They 'bong' when you approach the location of a POI - in this case, a speedcam!

Oh, and don't forget to change your Splashscreen, too! (i3 not listed as compatible, but it works fine with a properly dimensioned *.bmp)

I did that, via Paintshop Pro X, in a matter of seconds, and it worked brilliantly!

Only thing to get used to at first - is that the camera icons and 'bongs' (proximity alerts) only appear if you're over the relevant speed limit (so if you speed up and then slow down on the approach, it will appear and then disappear) - but that's quite sensible, if you think about it... :D

Have fun! (Off the air for a week now - away training...)
