Xda IIi car mount recommendation please!

After going through 2 Arkon mounts I'm in need of your recommendations for a more solidly built mount that isn't going to "spring" open one day never to close again... I'm sure it's happened to others and it's happened to both that I've owned. I'm currently still using the Arkon but with a rubber band holding my O2 Xda IIi in place. Not ideal at all.

Anyway, please let me know your recommendations. I've had a little look (via the Internet) at the Seidio mount which looks like it doesn't involve a spring holder mechanism but instead just slots in. I'm going to need to use it in landscape mode also. I've been used to the Arkon's windscreen sucker mount which is the one thing on it that has never let me down but am open to suggestions on other types of mounts.

Don't worry, I went for a Herbert Richter Mount with separate charger.
