Kevin - In the instructions for adding POIs, go to item (6) in the sequence and follow those instructions. as follows (copied from them)

6. Now tick ACTIVE, VISUAL ALERT, IMPERIAL, 150, Increase the POI Visibility and also point to the BMP file you extracted earlier from the ZIP file, e.g. C:\Temp\pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp

ie on
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-navman.php

Hope that helps Wink

R U sure you have downloaded the correct bmp files? See my long post above in which I mention the bitmap (bmp) files i.e.
Quote:
Now look further down the 220 odd files and identify twelve ov2 bmp files. In the first column, you will see six files that have the suffix bmp after them ie pocketops_continental.bmp. These are the six files which are little pictures of speed cameras appropriate to the site of the camera. Extract these files in the same way as you extracted the speed camera files, above. Save them in the folder with the other speed camera (csv) files.

Now you should be all ready to follow the installation instructions you have downloaded.

You could try going through the whole process of installing the POIs on your iCN520 - it will just overwrite the existing files so long as you use the same names as you used when installing them.

I suggest you download the instructions and follow each section
exactly as described. Unless you are keen to have a different icon (picture) for each different camera, you can use the UK Gatso camera for all your speed cameras - whatever type. Wink

i have downloaded everything onto my 520 and it seemed to go alright. Said it has been sent to my device.

Now, How do I know if it is on my 520? Will it show when I get a gps signal and or should there be a file selection I can find all the new stuff on from my 520??

1. I don't know if the 520 is the same or similar to my 510, but you should go to Main menu Settings > My Data > My POIs just to see that they are there.

2. Do you know of any speed cameras near you? If you do, navigate a route past it and see if it shows up on the screen.

3. Go for a drive past a know camera.........you will get an audible 'ding' from the device and the camera icon will display on the screen.

New 510 owner here - bought from Tesco for £159. Many thanks for the excellent instructions. I had the database on it within 10mins of getting it out of the box. I'm sure that people who are having problems are a) using the WRONG csv files and/or b) not opening them in notepad to edit the headers.

I've not tried it out very much, but I do know that there is a TEMP camera site near my house and when I drove past it, the 510 warned me AFTER I'd past the location??

How accurate should the 510 be at giving me warnings about camera sites?? Maybe it was just this one

Would love to have a slightly better warning sound, rather than the default chime - is this possible??

The latitude/longitude of the safety camera site may not be exactly accurately defined in the database. So some warnings won't be aligned with the camera position.

It seems that a number of people have tried to alter the "bong" but largely have not been successful. I haven't seen anyone on this forum give a definitive answer as to installling a workable replacement for the sound warning.

Geoff, what distance have you set the warning to? Also, you can use the .asc files which don't need editing at all.

I had the distance set to 150ft, but I've changed it now after reading a post which said that the Gatso file icludes the Truvelo cameras. As they "get you" from the front, I increased the warning to 600ft for Gatso and it seems to be ok. I've been out for a tootle today and I seem to be getting plenty of warning for fixed and mobile camera locations.

I guess the mobile one near my house might not be 100% accurate??

The girlie voice has a lisp (as someone else pointed ou) and the bloke sounds a bit dull!! Shame I can't change them or the warning "chime"!!

I installed some other POI's and only seem to get the first 50 in the list displayed on screen. Is this normal??
