I can't seem to get the level of detail on my maps that I expected with my new 350. For example, I want to be able to see all gas stations or restaurants on the map as I'm driving. I think th system must be able to do this as this is an 'normal' function I believe. Am I being really stupid or something?

I do see how to select a restaurant or hospital or other POI and map to it, but I'm talking on a normal navigation map...

Help!?

Thanks,
Jon

Sorry, but after rereading my post, I realize that I should not necessarily be referring to POI's. I'm really just initially talking about the information on restaurants, gas stations, etc. that come with the unit. I have yet to download any real POI databases yet, though the same would hold true for them as well...

Thanks,
Jon

I have the 300nuvi and on mine this is the same ... until you zoom in. So keep zooming in until you see them. Tap the screen so you are in overhead mode and zoom in to a point and you will see.

Think they should have these displayed on any zoom when HIGHEST DETAIL is selected on a map. Hopefully will that will be in a new update.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I had already tried the idea of zooming in to the highest level of detail and not seen any. Perhaps I was just doing this in an area where there were no POI's.

So can I assume then that for most of you using the system that if you are navigating to a destination, and you are on a major road, and you pass a gas/petrol station on that road, would you normally see it on your map displayed as a point?

Thanks again for the help.

Jon

best thing to do valid is click the screen then drag and then scroll to an area you know there is a poi and zoom in there (think it is the one but last zoom).

adamf- what is the email to give suggestions?

So, here's another nubie question... When you lose satellite signal (going indoors for example), the Nuvi asks you if you are indoors. If you answer 'yes' the system stops trying to track you via satelite - very logical. But when you then go back outdoors, how do you 'tell' the system to reaquire the signal? I seem to only be able to do that by turning off/on the system, this seems strange and the manual does not explain how!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jon

Just open and close the antenna at the back of the unit. This will re-start the satelite aquisition. Laughing
Hope that helps

Nice one I have sent my suggestion about displaying POI's with highest details enabled.
