Hi Ray,
I have managed to load the real speed camera voice prompts (TTGO V5.42 Build 5643 “Andy Siddell”) + the original sounds for POI using POIW 1.0e.exe + the extra prompts for Specs, All works well *THANKS*
My question is there a real voice prompts for Gatso 20mph (I have space for 1 more sound)?Laughing

I have Tom Tom Mobile v5.200 (540).

You do not appear to have a set of customised voices for this yet.

Can I use one of the others?

Thanks for a fantastic service by the way.

I have tried to download the spoken warnings, without success - I now have re-checked and find I have TomTom 5.210, but in brackets (5431), whereas the list on your site only goes up to 5430. Is this why it won't work? Is there an alternative, or must I continue with my bells and bugles, etc?

Hi Ray,
I have followed your instructions that you have posted but still can not get the voice warnings to say the speeds for the camera Sad I am missing something really simple I am sure. Any more help would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks to your help I now have the voice warnings. I should point out to all of you that you can't do it with the latest TomTom Navigator (5.21), after installing an older version (Navigator 5.0) I could put them on. I tested them on the road today, found it very interesting that I get warning bells as well as the spoken warnings - great, as the bell sounds first!

Haven't got gatso 20 - and some of the mobiles and gatsos seem to be mixed - there is no gatso 70, so I have put in mobile instead. By the way, what does gatso mean?

Bells AND spoken warnings sounds like you still have the non-speed zoned files on your system as well. If you like it like that, no problem! Smile

Gatso is short for Gatsometer, the company who make them....

Quote:
Gatsometer was founded in 1958 ago as a small family business and has since then developed to become a company with over sixty employees. The founder, Maurice Gatsonides, was a famous rally driver and winner of the Monte Carlo in 1953. He was also the inventor of the ‘Gatsometer’, the first reliable speed-measuring device in the world. The company continued to develop new and improved technologies and selling them all over the world, in more than forty countries today.

Have you looked at the data.chk files

I'll delete your Double Posting as it serves no purpose.

forinstance; beep5..speed camera limit of 20-70etc
beep5..mobile camera limit of 20-70etc
beep5.. specs ave.limit of 20-60etc
and keep one sound only ie polite2

at the moment its an either all sounds or all spoken

TT1 v.5.420 (5543/051108)

i have TT1 firmware 5.420

1.original data.chk is beep1 etc,
2.i've tried the vicki archer for speed camera spoken voice gatso30etc from ray's site
3.but the words gatso etc are meaningless to me,they don't register in my head
4.is it possible to create a new data.chk, which has a mixture of sound and spoken along the lines of

(from beep 5 of original data.chk) "Speed camera limit of 30 miles per hour"
Same again for 40, 50, 60 and 70 mph

(from beep 5 of original data.chk)"mobile speed camera limit of 30"
Same again for 40, 50, 60 and 70 mph

(from beep 5 of original data.chk)"Warning, temp camera in area"

(from beep 5 of original data.chk)"Warning, spec camera in area"

(from beep 5 of original data.chk)"Warning, redlight camera in area"

from the original data.chk to keep these highlighted ones beep5,polite2, as normal in data.chk. Total should be 15.

5. guess i'm asking if anyone could do a customise dat.chk of the above,i'm not sure how to.

6.pls let me know either way thx.

Beep 1
Beep 2
Beep 3
Beep 4
Beep 5
Bell 1
Bell 2

That's a heck of a lot of work for someone! Think you might be better off asking for pointers on what you need to try to do it yourself. Wink

I have just downloaded this file with no problems - so it does work, you need to click the hyperlinked text to the right of the 5.420 then re-name the file to data.chk before following the install instructions - Mike

Aha... You don't want to open it in Windows!
Its not a Windows file, all you need to do is rename it as mike says and copy it across onto your TomTom as per the instructions.
