Orange SPV C600, GlobalSat BT-338, TomTom Mobile 5.2

Can anyone help with a problem ?
We have the following set-up
Orange SPV C600, GlobalSat BT-338, TomTom Mobile 5.2

There are issues getting the phone to connect to the GPS, and when these are resolved (sometime requiring on/off on the phone - maybe a soft reset would be better ?), and TomTom is started the software sometimes freezes for a few seconds and then exits. We seem to be able to monitor satellite status, but on leaving that screen and going to the nav screen TT gives up.

I have validated the set-up using a Sony Vaio laptop and MemoryMap, and an Ipaq PDA with MemoryMap and with TomTom.

Has anyone else had similar issues, or can you suggest a solution ?
