|

Hi,
I'm swapping PDA's and I want to export my favorites from my old PDA to my new one. Is there any way I can do this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ian |

The long way would be to browse the map for each favourite and then store the location as a POI
The short way would be via a SDK program which allows you to access the Favourites list programmatically. If there's enough interest I can look into writing such a tool. _________________ Lutz

Aren't the favorites stored in the *.cfg file in the map folder?
Couldn't he just copy this file to the new PDA and be all set to go? |

I believe this will only work if you copy the complete map folder. As soon as you open another map you still have the problem. _________________ Lutz

I did just that when moving from a map to the plus version of the same map. I just copied the cfg file to the plus map folder, renamed the cfg file to include the "plus" in the name (thus corresponding the the map folder name) and changed map in TT5. Worked great. I have used this for a couple of weeks now and have found no hickups.
I suggest the OP try it. |

I agree with gekko and have used this approach in the past with TTN3 _________________ John

Does this still work on newer software revisions and / or differnt maps. Just got V6.05 maps tried copying over old .cfg file and renaming to folder name.. this keeps home location but looses favs? |
