TT wired mount with CF GPS?

Hi,

I have an Ipaq 2210 with the official TT3 wired mount kit and I'm considering buying a SiRF III Globalsat CF receiver to replace the separate antenna that came with the original set up, but want to confirm:
1. Can I still use the original car mount with AND without the charging lead plugged in? (to explain, the original set up only works when the system is charging and one of my cars has a less than perfect charging system which cuases the system to it's sat connection).
2. My system works fine with my car's heated front screen and the standard TT antenna - should it work as well with the SirF III CF antenna?

Thanks for the reply - perhaps I should consider BT as you suggest (it's just I kinda wanted something integrated). Alternatively, I may consider selling the complete Ipaq and TT set up and get TT One instead....

Could be a good idea, depends really whether you need the 2210 for other purposes. Mine's primarily a replacement for a Filofax, secondarily (is that a word???) used for satnav, and occasionally used to access the net from a wifi hotspot. If you just want satnav, then a One is probably a good idea. Doesn't solve the intermittent power supply problem, though.......... Rolling Eyes

Yeah, I don't use the Ipaq for anything else as I have a Blackberry as well.
I thought the TT One wouldn't be impacted by an intermittant charging system as it has it's own internal battery, so if the charging "comes and goes" it should stay locked to the satellites shouldn't it?
