Can anyone help me to help my bro-in-law, he has brought the hp ipaq rz1710 with Via Michelin software already on the sd card, it came with its own cradle, which he has since found out that he can only use that cradle and gps system with via michelin, the problem he has is that the nav system wont even find his own house number, is there anyway of using another map on via michelin i.e tom tom 5, he has tom tom 5 software and was hoping to install on the hp ipaq rz1710 which he can do but cant use because of the gps system Sad , any help for him would be most appreciated from anyone, Laughing

thanks
andy

Hi Andy, You may have more replys if you post your question in the ViaMitchelin forum. On my 1710, it also can't find my house number, I think thats because it can only do partial post code searches, I live at number 20, and it only lists number 32 as the nearest, but if you want it more accurate, what I did was to save my position as a favorite, then when I am going home from somewhere, it guides me to my front door. As far as using other softwear, I don't think you can.

:D I got this from another page and thanks to Tebster, I had the same problem the solution is:
Set cable nmea gps, set baud rate to 19200, and select S2410 com1.

It is a revelation and much better than the viamitchelin software.

Good travelling

gsten :D
