|
|
Hi,
I wanted to upgrade to TTN5 from TTN3 but because I was on holiday during part of November I missed the upgrade deadline by FIVE days and TT refuse to offer me any alternative... apart from buying the full product for 199 Euros!
Their support department suggested they *may* offer a competitive upgrade for next year and now they have updated their FAQ to say Q2 next year - but what good is that...
I contacted TT "Investor Relations" department via email and explained that TT were stopping me from spending money with them which has got to be bad for business and investors - but they didn't respond.
All in all a very poor customer experience - makes me tempted to dump TT and move to Navman...
Can we put pressure on them to offer an upgrade (even if it's not as competitive as the 59 Euros offer they were running)...?
Anyone else have this problem?
All the best

The upgrade deadline was widely communciated. It's unfortunate you did miss it, but that's what deadlines are for - after they are reached the offer stops. _________________ Lutz

I agree (although I only recall receiving one email) - but my main issue is with the fact that TT have no regular upgrade path... it's understandable that a competitive offer has to expire but they shouldn't then charge full price to existing customers wishing to move to the latest supportable release - it's bad business practice.

TomTom have been in contact with me and have resolved the situation. I am most appreciative to their customer relations department in dealing with the matter.
For anyone else who has missed out there is likely to be an upgrade in 2006.
