Right have succesfully got TTN5 working on my Vario after upgrading to 5.21. BUT i can now connect to my BT GPS and evrything works until i close TTN5. When i close the program and re-open it it says No GPS Device. Upon checking the Bluetooth settings, the pairing is still there as it was and unchanged and as far as i can tell still working, and the settings in TTN5 are unchanged but TTN5 will not see the GPS. To make it work i have to delete the Bluetooth pairing and re-do it, then TTN5 instantly recognises the GPS Device.

WM5 does not seem to offer many options for Bluetooth or for checking what is going on.

Got any ideas

after the pairing, assign an outgoing COM port to your receiver. Then point TTN to that port. This is all you need to do.

I have tried this but it does not seem to work. I can pair the BT GPS, set up ports and TTN5 works great. Unload TTN5 and re-load and it works great. Turn off the BT GPS and turn back on then load TTN5 and will never find the GPS, the only way is to delete the pairing and re-pair then TTN5 will instantly see BT GPS.

Any ideas on how to make it stay so that the pairing is recognised by TTN5.

I have the exact same problem. Seems to be associated with when the GPS is switched off and then on again. TTN 5.21.

There is no option to set up as a wired NMEA device as the COM port the GPS is mapped to (COM6 in my case) isn't listed as an available port to connect to. It only gets listed in the list of COM ports associated with a generic Bluetooth GPS.

And... for those with a problem connecting at all with the Vario (and other clones of teh HTC Wizard, perhaps), try ensuring GPRS/GSM is on (and not in flight mode). TTN seems to look at the status of GPRS/GSM. If that's disabled, it won't connect via Bluetooth to the GPS even if Bluetooth has been enabled. Doh!!

Sorted - I changed the GPS link to not be secure. It now reconnects without trying to re-pair/promt for the PIN.
