Hi all, I have downloaded all of the POI's from this site and have them in the Great_Britain-Map folder on my SD card in my Palm Tungsten T5.

When I start up TT5 and choose to navigate to a POI, not all of the new ones I loaded show up. E.g the first half do but the ones later in the alphabet such as "Tesco" and "Wirelesshotspots" don't show up.

All the correct files are in the folder though - anyone solve the mystery?!?!

Right, kind of solved my own mystery here.

I deleted all of the POI's I loaded except for the "Tesco" and "Wirelesshotspots" ones and then fired up TT5 again.

Low and behold, they showed up this time. I assume that this means there must be a maximum number of extra POI's that I can load. Anyone know what the maximum number is?!?!?

Also, even though I only left the 2 extra POI's in the GB folder, all the standard ones showed upstill. Where are the standard TT5 poi's stored and is it possible to delete them to get extra 3rd party ones in?!?

They are in the file Poi.dat and removing it won't increase the number of added POI's. You can have a max of 39 that you can add.

Thanks for that!

I had about 39 custom POI's on it last night and it S-L-O-W-E-D the unit down massively. And thats on a Tungsten T5, god knows what it would have been like on something slower.

Any ideas how many POI's I can get away with having on there without it slowing down?

Cheers

If you use Warn When Near then Disable them in the Options Menu. Try to have as few as possible Enabled as this is what is slowing it down.

You will still be able to Navigate To ... and Find (in Browse Map) all of the 39 categories.
