I was demonstrating how TT works on my pda to somebody at work using the route demo.

I noticed that it has you travelling on motorways at 75mph. It also has you driving at 56mph in a 40mph section of road.

Two issues:
1. The route planner timing is now rubbish. In old TT3 you could set speeds per road but TT5 only has one speed limiter. You can limit your max speed to 70mph but that doesn't help the A or B road speeds.

2. Doesn't TT know what our speed limits are?!?!??

I agree that losing the ability to amend speeds for different road types is frustrating though I only used it in TT3 to avoid particular road types by setting riduculously low speeds. I believe the speeds that appear in the Demo mode are not those actually used by TT5 and there was a discussion on this a short while ago.
I use TT5 for a lot of long journeys and generally I find that the ETA given at the start of the journey often proves to be pretty accurate.

I have to agree with this. When I first got TTN5 I was disapointed to find that you couldn't adjust them, however, now I am used to it, I find that the ETA in TTN5 is much more accurate than TTN3
