Help Problems With TomTom 6680 and parrot ck 3300

Hi guys sos to be a pain i have looked on this and various other forums and need your help i have tom tom 5 on my 6680 which works fine with the supplied reciever, i have however just had a ck 3300 fitted into my car and would love to be able to get the two 2 work together. However am i to understand i have to have an update to tom tom traffic for it work with other gps recievers?? Or has anyone been able to get theirs to work wothout this file i dont need the traffic plugin so dont really want to have to pay more money to tom tom when i feel that i should be able to use the sofware with another gps reciever (just make life easier using the one with the car kit)
