This is my first post and i don’t think it will be my last, I bought a iPAQ 2410 from Totalpda which came with tomtom navigator version 5. I ordered the goods on the Tuesday afternoon and got my goods delivered on the Wednesday morning. The delivery cost was a bit more expensive than some other companies I have bought from but a bit of gentle persuasion I managed to get a few quid knocked off (I like to haggle over the phone and see how much I can get off).

Once the unit arrived i was got everything out of the box and started to play about with the pda, it was just what I had been thinking about getting for a while now. I noticed that when I turned the wifi on it auto detected my wifi router and all I had to do was enter the wep key and I was away, great. Browsing the web is not the best due to the size of the screen but the main reason I wanted wifi was to get my email on the move. After a couple of mins playing about I was being nagged by the wife to let her use it for satnav, as she would like to use it at the weekends.

I went out plugged everything in the right way, put the silver diamond shape receiver on the dash to get a signal. We both sat in the car and when I turned the ignition off I noticed that there was no power going to cigarette adapter, i took the adapter out and checked the fuse, the fuse was fine. I was totally disappointed like a kid with a new toy that did not work.

I called totalpda the same day and a girl in customer service told me I should speak to their technical department. She then passed me through to a man who went through the same things I had already done, check the ignition was on, see if power to the pda or the receiver and check the fuse. He agreed the unit was faulty and advised that he would send me out a replacement cable and an rma form to send the faulty one back. I was still gutted the fact that the satnav was not working but it was good to know a replacement was being sent out which I was advised I would have next day.

True enough, next day I get a chap on the door and postman asks me to sign for a jiffy bag and there is my replacement cable, well done Totalpda you have kept your customer happy and I would buy from you again.

Good Story, and it's also nice to see someone taking time out to praise a company on these forums as many times (but by no means exclusively) this can be a section of moans about companies and their service/support - and not without reason either!

Thank You

Steve

Yeah Steveg there does seem to be alot of people posing bad feedback on a large list of companies, from web based to your high street retailers. I came on this forum as i was advised this is where i could get free speed camera files and check for updates. I am new to satnav and did not realise the amount of companies that where selling it on the web. Was not sure where to buy from but ended up at totalgps and it turned out to be a good decision.
