Some of the things im unsure about if i buy a 300 can i upgrade it to a 700 but downloading stuff from here or is the 700 simply better?
What does pda stand for or something like that?
Sorry for being dumb! |

First place to look is the TOM TOM web site that will give you an over view of the differences between the 300, 500 and 700.
No you can't upgrade 300 to 700 as there are hardware differences.
Personal Digital Assistant is another way of using sat nav, think most people would agree that a dedicated unit is probably best option unless you own a PDA already. |

Basically:
300 UK Street Level mapping and BT Phone connection for tomTom PLUS Services such as Traffic Updates etc
500 As 300 but ADDS Handsfree Phone facility and Major Roads of Europe
700 As 500 but ADDS Full Europe Street level map data, remote control and uses a mini hard drive rather than SD Memory cards. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You can't download country specific maps. You can only upgrade the map that you originally purchased. Other country maps have to be bought.
This is what makes the 700 a better buy if travelling in Europe a lot. _________________ Richard

You can buy the European Map Set and yes, all TomTom products can use our Safety Camera database which you can download. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Where are you planning to travel, primarily? I think that makes a difference in deciding b/w the 300 and 700. |

If you go to Europe a lot the 700 works out about the same price as the 300 plus maps on CD plus blank card to copy them to.
BUT the 700 map is western Europe as one single detailed map. The 300/500 with upgrade will get all the western European countries, but you will need to switch maps at each border crossing. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
