I have tried installing TomTom 5 onto the 256Mb memory card in my Mitac Mio 168, the program installs and runs fine (I have no maps loaded at this point) When I copy the Great Britain map to the memory card It runs out of space.
What am I doing wrong?
Should I install TomTom on the PDA's memory and leave more room on the SD card for the map?
Thanks.

RC, It should fit onto the 256MB card, I have just checked my install and even with the GB Plus map, extra voices etc. it takes up 213MB. Are you sure the card was empty before starting the install? - try formatting the card, as to the programs I would always (where possible) put the application into memory (default) I just find it more reliable - Mike

Put the card into a PC card reader, then in file explorer locate the card, right click it and select format from the menu, it will warn you about destroying all information on the card, but that is what you want it to do - make sure you have selected the correct drive in the first place. If you haven't got a card reader I would sugest you go and get one, as it takes a matter of mins to load the map, as opposed to nearly an hour using active sync - Mike

If you haven't got a card reader, you can use a digital camera (if it takes an SD card) connected to the USB port . The only thing to watch is that the camera batteries will run down quickly so have some recharged ones standing by ready.
