Railway and petrol station POI causes TTN5 to crash

TTN5 works fine for Great Britain but I couldn't understand why it crashes for Benelux and Austria-Switzerland. Every time I tried to browse the map for either country it just exited straight back to the Today screen.

In reading other threads I have learned that the POIs have something to do with this, and indeed if I disable all of them the program works fine. By trial and error I have discovered that the railway stations and petrol stations in Benelux, if enabled in POI, cause TomTom to crash; there are probably other examples but these two point to the problem.

The curious thing is that the other threads say that the POI file in these errant countries is empty and needs replacing with an older version's copy. But in my system the POI.dat for Benelux is 4.84Mb! That ain't empty. What is probably missing are the petrol station and railway station nodes in that file.

I am using the Version 5.100 (5160) of TomTom for PocketPC (I am using an hx4700).

Does anyone know where I can obtain a fix for this? It's driving me nuts!

This software is buggier than a mattress under Charing Cross Bridge. I wish they'd get their act together and sort it once and for all.

you may want to read the thread again - it says that the Italian POI.DAT is empty, not the one for BeNeLux

Crashing on Petrol Stations and Railway stations is - in the majority of cases - a sign of using a cracked version of TTN. Can you confirm yours is genuine?
