Hope you can help....................cheers (in advance)

Hello Bluenose,

Your options are kind of limited for New Zealand at the moment.

For real navigation you can get either;

Navman NZ maps - +-NZ$480
http://www.efrontier.co.nz/estore/product_info.php?cPath=2_4&products_id=36

or

Goldfinger Guider +- NZ$320
http://www.efrontier.co.nz/estore/product_info.php?cPath=2_4&products_id=34

If you just want something cheap for touring etc have a look at Handmap (www.handmap.net) as they have detailed street maps of NZ for around NZ$50 but this is a moviong map not realnavigation.

Cheers
Trevor

You have a number of options...

1.(my system). Mio 168 + TomTom & for an extra £99 the Navman software & maps of NZ.
Both sets of maps fit on a 256mb SD card & I have never had any (negative)software interactions by having both on the unit.

2. Buy a Pin570 & then just pay for the additional NZ map (only takes 20mb of space).BTW, the small size (mb)of the maps did surprise me, however all the one way systems in NZ were spot on when we were there a few months ago!

HTH.

Garmin also do NZ maps for their units but I don't know how good they are. I don't think the turn restriction/one way information exists outside major cities (not that you really need it). You can buy a Garmin in the UK (cheaper if you only want UK maps for it, rather than all of Europe) and then buy NZ maps but they aren't cheap.

You used to be able to get free NZ maps for Garmin which are based on the Lands and Survey (or whatever they call themselves these days) maps but they aren't routable so not much more use than a paper map really.
