| leedles correct ..the screen is easy to see and when using the i3 in navigation mode i tend to just listen to the voice prompts (thus concentrating on the traffic around me) with occasional glances at the screen to confirm my route... |

Thats what I figured, it appears to calculate the route ETA at speeds that are not achievable unless you are always driving at the maximum speed limit irrespective of if it is an A road or a single track road. Scary sheep up my way  no consideration for cars on the road. |

NickC - I love the i3 but as a bifocals wearer I need to have it mounted half way up windscreen to get good focus  . Probably need new specs! 8O Once in focus it is great |

Noakesi - as Zogman said, I successfully loaded up City Select Europe to the i3, and it worked like a dream. Make sure you buy a new transflash card though otherwise you'll just overwrite the maps on the card that came with the unit. You don't need a card reader as you have to load the maps from your PC direct to the i3.
Should work fine - the Europe ones do, and Garmin say that all CitySelect software is compatible with the i3. Good luck - let us know how you get on. |

Only way I know, is to upload the waypoints to Mapsource. |

So plod999 you have never done anything like that? your whiter that white?
I bet you are.... you ticket people for going over the speed limit and i bet you that you speed yourself, that makes you nothing better than him, in fact it makes you worse because you fine people for this.
I think plod that you should stop being a police officer and maybe become a judge because that is what you seem to like to do.
Is it me or do most police seem to have been bullied at school and do that job because they want to be the bully's now...

No problem, handy to know though. I would hate to lose 500 waypoints knowing that they could have been backed up. |

Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't. The point is, he didn't come on the forum basically saying, Hey, I just walked into a shop and ripped them/Garmin off. At the end of the day, the unit will be sent to Garmin as a DOA and they will suffer the losses. Yes, they can afford it, but why should they?
The law states that you keep within the speed limit, we ALL know the penalty yet we all have occasionally 'put our foot down'. If you get caught, tough, you broke the law, not the law of Plod999, but the law of the land.
If Newbie1234 thinks he/she has done nothing wrong or has merely used a loophole in the law, then, stand up and name youself, post your details, you got nothing to hide, have you

I've got another question - about the volume of the direction instructions. I usually have music playing (quite loudly) when I'm driving. I realise I'll have to turn it down a bit, but is the volume of the I3 sufficient when music is playing at the same time?
