Easydevices – BEWARE IMPORTED IPAQs

Got a 4700 from them, registered it with HP only to find out it is a bloody import, HP said they would look into this for me as they are not allowed to be sold by retailers in the UK but can be sold in places like ebay if purchased as a consumer purchase from foreign country apparently.

easy devices are a reputable company i know expansys have done this in the past with and when contacted they have replaced it for a uk version
im not sure that the hp advice is correct though

I think you need to get back on to HP. The whole point of PDA's is that they are mobile! I recently bought a iPAQ 4705 from the US and was both told and have seen it in the small print that the warranty is worldwide. Check your warranty again and I think you'll find this to be the case.
