Any ideas why tt5 every now and again tells me that I have no voice prompts installed.? The lovely sexy Jane has obviously left me for someone else!

I can entice her back by reinstalling from the cd - which confirms that the voice file is still there as I'm installing over the top of it.

As I'm taking my ipaq away next week, I don't want the voice file to crash on me.

Buy Sprite backup and create a self-restoring backup file on your memory card, then if anything goes wrong you can do a hard reset and get everything back again in about 2 minutes

next time it happens see if the vif file is gone.

You can also stay on the safe side and copy the dataxx.chk and eng.vif to a different folder, and copy them back should they get lost again.

Thanks guys. Followed both suggestions by using the ipaqs backup (I think from memory this may even be Sprite) and as a secondary measure copied the data05.chk file & data05.vif to the backup location.

Couldn't find eng.vif :D

Just a quick update to say that Jane packed her bags and left again (don't think I have much luck with women :D ). The ipaq backup worked well and I was able to restore the data05.chk file. I also had the vif file in the backup but, didn't need to restore that one. Many thanks again.
