tomtom mobile 4 disguised as tomtom mobile 5?

I have noticed some querys on this forum saying the version people have of tomtom mobile 5 has no choice in gps receiver for other receiver.

one query on this subject it turns out is not ver 5 but ver 4.

is it possible there are some version 4 dressed up as version 5?

Well, maybe people mistake TomTom Mobile 2005 (which is version 4.40) for TomTom Mobile 5 (which is version 5.x 'obviously')

No aliendad, I got mine straight from tomtom and when i goto configure gps i can only select tomtom gps unit. Although there are arrows either side i cannot change it.

if you select the about screen in tomtom you will see the "app" number

from main screen should be 6 6 6 5 6 6 6 6 2

maybe full versions are supplied withou a choice,

where as upgrades are supplied with the choice?

which is a shame as quite a few people having lost the original have bought third party ones from ebay etc.

Better not lose it then.
