Hi all,

Has anybody managed to get TT5 and memory-map to work together? I've tried gpsgate which doesn't work as it doesn't use the latest version of the TT5 developer's kit.

All I get in memory-map is the correct date and time, but no position info.

I've cross-posted on gpsgate forum and memory-map forum but no joy yet.

Cheers,

Colin

I have TT5 and memory map working together with GPS gate. I havn't updated to TT5.1 yet but all seems okay.

Just set up GPS gate to access your GPS receiver then craete two virtual ports. With GPS gate running start TT5. Go to 'configure GPS' and select Other cable NMEA, select baud rate of 4800 and then select one of the virtual ports of GPS gate you created earlier. Should work then.

Best of luck

I might be doing something silly but I've got in GPS Gate

Input

Com Port COM8
4800

Output
Virtual Ports
COM0
COM7

Tried linking TT5.1 into either of COM0/COM7, but couldn't get it to pick up anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers.

Colin

With TTN5 you DO NOT NEED GPSgate. Just make sure you exit TTN5 before starting MM, and exit MM fully (with 'Menu - Exit' & not by tapping the X in the top corner).

I used GPSgate with TTN3 & MM (you HAD to because TTN3 hogged the com port even when fully exited). GPS gate then got the gps data from TTN3 and passed it to MM via a virtual com port.

TTN5 fixed this problem.

It can be usefull using them together if you want to record a track. TT5 no longer appears to allow you to record a track.

cagray when you start GPS gate does the icon in the bottom right hand corner of your today screen turn Green?

If so start TTN5 and then make sure you have it selected to one of your virtual ports. Should pick up then.

If you run GPS gate in simulator mode and enter a co-ordinate does ttn5 see this simulated position?

GPSGate does turn green and MM and Leadtek Navigator both see it as a fix, however, they pick up the date, but just get 0oN and 0oE as the co-ordinates.

Tried exiting TT5.1 and all the other bits, but definitely cannot get MM to work with TT.

Try posting the problem on GPSGate forum. They are pretty good at finding the problem.

Have you got the correct input com port selected? Should it not be a lower number i.e. com 1 or 2?
