I am fairly new to this and have been playing with the TOMTOM software. I have the software backed up on my PC from fresh but since I've been playin with adding and deleting POi's. When I reset my 2410 and load TOMTOM... it says "NO MAPS FOUND"
I was deleting some POI's that I didnt want and since doing so... seem to have freaked out the software.
I have Hard reset thePDA and also tried to recopy the backed up version of TOMTOM from my PC to the SD card by dragging and dopping the files to overwrite the existing ones... during file copy it says it couldnt transfer some of the files to the sectors!
I am currently just transfering the GB Map and hope this works... anyone give me some help in the meantime???
Please

Right...
Ok I seem to have managed to get it back working... I copied the GB Map folder from the PC and overwrote the one on the card. It seemed to work...eventually. Came up a couple of times with "NO ROUTE FOUND" when calculating a route but sine a HARD reboot of the PDA and reinstalled TOMTOM, it seems (touch wood) to be ok.
Moral of this story is... NOT TO MUCK ABOT WITH THINGS YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT!!

Your best bet if you want to play around is to buy another card and copy the stuff over to that, then if you have a problem you'll still have the original to revert to :D |

Yep, first thing I did when I got it was copied it to a new SD card and burnt a copy to CD just for good measure. The original is locked away safe.
I think it was Murphy's Third law of computing..... You can never have too many backups.

Mad Murphy will still get you 'cause you will add something else to the sd card, forget to back it up & have to do a hard reset the next day .
PS also known as Sod's Law (not sure who the sod is but pity help him when I find out, all the things he's done to me). _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling
