no, TTN5 does not have that function. They claim it's too complicated to implement, gently ignoring the fact that CoPilot and Mapopolis do both offer that feature.

But does route optimzation work in Mapopolis? It doesn't in Copilot.

It does work in both CoPilot and Mapopolis. FOR ME.

However, if you read the Copilot forum you will find that it does not work universally.

Hey PONDEROUS ! Unlike the CoPilot forum, this is a nice peaceful place for users to muse about TomTom.

After 4 months of aggrevation with CoPilot, I have found peace and harmony here. Not Worthy

You're not going to upset the tranquility by disagreeing with people, are you ? Laughing

Hi, Bazzer. Glad you like it here.

I think the answer has to be no. I don't need to disagree. Whether facts are facts is a matter of fact, opinion. The facts are as I have stated above. Some others appear not to have witnessed them, and how that has come about I have no wish to speculate.

Apologies again! My editing is the pits. I meant that facts are a matter of fact, NOT opinion.

Always worked for me without problems as does planning routes on the PC, adding waypoints as reqired then saving the trip file to the PPC.

Studying again the behaviour of Optimize Stops in CP 5, I think that in the strictest sense Lutz and xda may be right. In itself, I think that the facility does work. It seems that it falls down when, in the midst of an optimisation, it has the choice between major roads and taking the shortest route (if that option is selected). As with any CP 5 route calculation, it will choose the major roads thereby defeating at the same time both the Shortest Routing and Optimize Stops facilities. That, I believe, is the most likely reason why sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

I remain unable to to state without qualification that this facility works, and I think it inappropriate that the forum team should do so given all that has been said on the Copilot forum.

Can we get back to the point? This is a Tom Tom forum not a Copilot one.

Willingly, but Copilot issues were introduced and needed addressing.

Over and out (I hope).

Well This is a big disappointment, How can it be too compicated?
a much needed option for any delivery or sales person is not Included,
it's unacceptable.

Is there a work around?, Any PC applications where I can Optimize then DL to PDA?

Thanks
