Compass Preferences

I want to know how far it is to my destination, what time I'll arrive & the 'real' speed I'm doing (my speedo is a full 10% faster than real life). Having all 3 in the Status Bar results in the font's being a little small for comfort.

I thought the workaround would be to show just remaining distance & speed in the status bar then configure Compass settings to display "Distance to Destination".

Unfortunately, the distance shown seems to be as the crow flies as when I set off from Darlington to Liverpool the compass shows 93 miles whereas I know the journey to be 139 miles !

Whilst I can't say it's a bug, (it's working as it should), I just think it'd be more sensible for it to show "remaining distance" as per the status bar option.

Any comments - should Navigator compass show remaining distance rather than the straight line distance ?

The best work around is to use the horizontal display. All the display items are much easier to read. You don't need Windows 2003SE for it to work - it's built into the TomTom software. To my mind, it's one of the major benefits of TT5
