Howdy -

Does anyone know of a half-decent in car microphone I could use to replace the TTG 700 unit's effort? It's a bit feeble, and I'm quite keen to use the handsfree parts of the unit.

I noticed there was a microphone plug on the back, so I imagine they had in mind that we might need another one.

I don't think its feeble? In fact its quiet good?

Its a standard 3.5mm jack so I would presume any mic would do..

TomTom advertise an External Microphone for use with the TT Go 500/700, but I'm not sure if it is publicly available to purchase yet?

There is an extension mike for the Go 700 on the maplin website.
www.maplin.co.uk but it's not currently available at the moment.

It's possible my car is a bit noisy, but my father described me as sounding like I was sitting in a bucket with a cushion on my head.

Cheers to all for the mic suggestions - have preordered the Tomtom device from Expansys.

I thought I had a problem with my 700 and the hands free functions.

It wasnt until the other day that I realised that I was using the 700 in the 300 mount and the mic was actually in the 700 mount Embarassed
