excuse me for butting in from tomtom mobile forum,

but was told about these two files,

i have downloaded them and installed them in the voices directory,

i can select either voice, however tom tom works fine, but without any sound.

any help you can give?

I don't know about Mobile, but try installing all 6 files, the .chk, the .vif and the .bmp files. (See last page of this topic)

apparently tomtom mobile uses a different bit rate

16000 Hz for Mobile

these files both work on my c 5oo with ttmobile 5

very good they are to

i did transfer them with a card reader

I put these on my tt5 on ipaq 5555 superb my kids hate it and people now have stopped scrounging lifts all because they hate yoda i love it. more more more next someone could do an ozzy osbourne ie turn f**kin right ya d**khead lets hope it goes like poi's and people start posting voices

I hope someone can do a KITT (KnightRider) voice and will post it. I've wanted that voice eversince I bought my GPS system. Perhaps a company could persuade William Daniels (Original voice of KITT) to record the lines?

While it may sound a great idea to sample the voice from the film, you will most likely get in conflict with the copyright, when you distribute such samples.

Not if you don't distribute it. Making it for just your own use is NOT illigal!

But the problem is finding the right phrases. How many times do you heas stuff like "Go all the way around the roundabout" in a movie?
