Hey Mike B,
would you have any further information regarding when the new maps of western europe will be out rather than just the upgrade?
I've gone and purchased the GB upgrade now, however, reading what has been said already today, in hindsight i should of waited for the new europe maps. doh!

If you don't have the Europe maps already, you can't upgrade to the new Maps of Western Europe. You'll have to pay the full amount (when it comes available).

WHAT A RIP OFF. I have only owned my TomTom go for 3 months and Europe maps for 2 months and its just cost me £100 to get the latest versions. Wish i hadn't started with TTG at all.I think it is totally unfair. Thats nearly £650 in 3 months.
This is one VERY disappointed customer.

We havent been given any information about the release of MWE for purchase. Only the upgrade. However, as the upgrade is available you can assume that the MWE will soon be available in the stores.

You should be able to cancel your upgrade order and place one with a local supplier for the Europe maps
.

If you read the thread again you will see that you only need to upgrade the MWE for €59, about £40 so it isnt that bad.

Do I understand correctly here ?!?!?

I have the Benelux on SD card, and bought the "Maps of Western Europe" separately for 190 euros.

Let's say I want to upgrade the BENELUX ... so I have 2 choices :

- Take the 79 euros upgrade for BENELUX, that will come on a new SD card
OR
- Take the 59 euros Maps of western europe, That means I would get an update of all Western europe maps INCLUDING Benelux ?

Is that correct (In that case that would cost me 59 euros for the Benelux update).

??

Correct. If you have bought MWE you only need to upgrade them for €59 plus shipping. That will give you fully updated mapping for the whole of western europe

Did you get an order confirmation email?

If not then you can contect TomTom using the "My Account" feature of the TomTom site.

nich - you only needed to upgrade the maps of Western Europe, this would have cost you 59Euro plus postage and would have included the UK upgrade. If it cost you £100 you've ordered more than you needed

Thanks peeps now I understand it all.

It makes no difference that I just bought my TTG and MWE only a few weeks ago.

To enjoy the benefits of the version 5 upgrade I need to buy the 59 euro map upgrade of MWE which I can do as I already have the MWE.

I was under the impression earlier that I was just buying them like from scratch again, which seems not to be the case.

Therefore 59 euros seem very fair for the benefits I gain Smile

I am happy now SmileSmile

Does the new tom tom go '700' come with these so-called upgraded maps as standard?

I do hope so, cos i not going to shell out between 500-600 quid on the new '700' if it does'nt! 8O
