I know it's a little off-topic for what's normally on here, but I have a BC-307x (xTrac) which is having difficulty in getting me closer than 50ft from any geocache.

Under trees, it just doesn't update the position at all. It even does it with the antennae plugged in.

Has anyone any ideas or better yet, fixes for this ????? It's driving me crazy.

I am using it with an iPaq 2210.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Nothing to do with trees. It's a "feature" of Xtrac, similiar to the "Static Navigation" of standard receivers. Below a certain speed (4 km/h or so) the receiver assumes you are stationary and "freezes" the position unless you move for at least 100 metres.

If you can, switch XTrac off while geocaching.

Thanks mate.

I didn't realise that.

Is there any way to turn xtrac off that you know of ??? I haven't seen a way to do it.
