I'm having a very similar problem with my HP hx2490, fortunately with this PDA you don't lose all the data when the battery goes flat. Besides, I also use Sprite and can highly recomend it!

One further thought, you are using the GPS speed to calibrate the speedometer. That's fine, but first you need to calibrate the GPS speed against a known standard otherwise you are just calibrating ... |

Trevor I think you and Graham/Howard are looking at different screens. You are looking at the GPS setup/configure/status screen and the others, I think, are referring to the little bars in the bottom ... |
