Load the new software that came with the GPS 10. Then you will have the interface tab.

The software with each product will only work with a Garmin GPS unit but the GPS 10 is capable of working with any NMEA mapping software as well.

Did you try the free download of nRoute from the Garmin site? I believe it will allow routing on the pc with your maps.

But does your laptop have a serial port or are you using the USB connection? These are seperately set on the 60cs and using one does not test the other.

I assume you are tapping the down arrow next to the selected input on that tab to see the list. Then you can select the port you want.
